Marin Century Training Series #10 - Reverse Metric Century (68 miles/4500 ft/Multi/Margie & Herb)
About this event

Train with us for the Marin Century! This ride is the tenth of 13 consecutive Sunday rides, gradually progressing, to prepare you for the 100-mile Marin Century on August 1.
This week is the reverse of the Metric Century route, with a small addition for extra miles. It travels up Wilson Hill first, then north on Chileno Valley Road, cuts across to Tomales, skirts Tomales Bay to Pt Reyes Station, then back over Cheese Factory Hill. We will roll out from Stafford Lake Park Picnic Area 5 at 8 am promptly.
There is 4,500 feet of elevation on this ride, that's a lot. The biggest climbs are:
-.Wilson Hill (mile 8) short but very steep
-.Franklin School Road (mile 30) before Tomales
-Olema Hill (mile 53) after Pt Reyes
-Cheese Factory Hill (mile 61)
Herb will lead a faster group, averaging above 16 mph moving speed. Margie will lead the less speedy riders, with an average moving speed of 14-16 mph. Water, food, restrooms and coffee are available at Tomales (mile 33) and Olema (mile 53). That's it for availability so come prepared. Road bikes with slick tires are recommended. Make sure you have two, full, large water bottles and lots of snacks/food.
You can come along whether you are riding the Century or not. If you missed the first rides in this series, but feel able to ride 68 tough miles, come along!
